Strengthening UK–China Academic Publishing Exchange

Strengthening UK–China Academic Publishing Exchange

Singing Grass recently curated a series of UK–Ireland Academic Publishers networking and collaboration events as part of a long-term initiative supporting Chinese academic publishing delegations since 2024. Our bespoke programmes have welcomed senior editors and publishing directors from Renmin University Press, Peking University Press, East China Normal University Press, and the Renmin University Press Information Centre for Social Science.

During their visits, delegates engaged with a wide range of academic publishing partners across the UK and Ireland. Highlights included a dedicated meeting in partnership with Publishing Ireland, featuring presentations from leading Irish academic presses; strategic visits to Penguin Random House UK’s headquarters and Elsevier’s Oxford office; as well as direct engagements with institutions such as Hachette UK, Kingston University London, Publishing Ireland and the Royal Irish Academy.

Singing Grass orchestrated a comprehensive UK–Ireland publishing ecosystem tour that combined official fair attendance with targeted briefings and academic institution visits. By tailoring the itinerary’s pace and group size to the client’s goals, we facilitated meaningful dialogues with rights directors, publishing heads, and senior executives—ensuring each meeting was substantive and impactful. These high-level exchanges fostered deep industry insights, strengthened international collaboration, and earned unanimous praise from our partners.
